Cedar Springs Landscape Group Case Study
Strategy
Customer and employee surveys revealed that Cedar Springs is highly valued, not only for the beautiful work they do but, more importantly, for the character of the people doing the work. In the competitive landscaping market, these are prized qualities and we knew they would be the driving principles for their updated identity and a new, bar-raising website.
Identity
As the company has grown and matured over the years, their logo has evolved to represent them. Today, the subtle updates to their logo keep their identity fresh, relevant and more in line with contemporary design.
Messaging
Our survey results and customer letters repeatedly told of the great experience of working with the people at Cedar Springs. This has become a cornerstone of the company culture, and we felt it called for an update to their tagline. “Defined by character” was added to complete the story of what Cedar Springs is truly all about.
Web Design
The 5 Star Backyard theme was developed to creatively express the Cedar Springs brand promise. With visuals and messaging conjuring up the memorable experiences of a vacation resort, homeowners are inspired to re-think their property use, to imagine their backyard as a ticket to get away. Every day.

What did it look like before?
Photography
Gorgeous website imagery, shot by our designer/photographer, Joel Reynolds, gives an idyllic, lush resort feel to the site, while providing the visitor with very real examples of Cedar Springs’ work.
Ad Campaign
To launch the new identity and website, a direct mail campaign (both postcards and email) introduced clients and area residents to Cedar Springs’ updated identity and encouraged them to think of their backyard as a potential five star destination.
